Dithering, he said. Former Vice President Dick Cheney said that about the apparent indecision of the Obama administration over troops for Afghanistan. The administration says they are just being careful to do it right.
The mission in Afghanistan, they say, must be based on current conditions, the best policy for the region, the nature and stability of their government. All of this must be taken into account and careful evaluation of all factors must be completed before any decisions are made.
I would buy that except for one thing. This kind of careful thought has no been applied to any of the administrations other programs. In every thing else, stimulus, bailouts, Whitehouse staffing, the czars. Medicine, and taxes all have to be done NOW! The constant drum beat from Washington is “We have a crisis and it requires rapid actions.” Anyone who ask that things be carefully considered, or even that the bills be read before bring voted on, are instantly condemned as “enemies of America” who only know how to say NO.
Our nation is being driven into bankruptcy by these ill conceived programs that are being pushed at a rapid rate, Yet when the safety and security of our nation and our fighting men is at risk, there is no hurry. Something just does not smell right.
