The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month was when the agreements were signed ending World War One. It was later adapted as a day to honor the veterans who won that war, and then all veterans. But it was not always properly celebrated. After the Viet Nam conflict, many veterans were scorned and vilified by left leaning politicians and media types. It is a very good thing that on this veterans day, the sacrifices of the Viet Nam Veterans is fully recognized and their standing among the defenders of this nation is put on an equal footing with the heroes of all other wars.
