The program will consist of pictures and stories about Confederate ghost gleaned from the internet. Bring the family and any stories you may have.

FAIR REPORT

Our annual booth at the Comer fair was once again a success. Sales were somewhat lower than last year due to a rain out on Wednesday, and the week economy that kept people from spending. We made some new friends and one contact from a former member who is interested in joining the camp.

AN INVENTATION FROM STEVE HALL:

Compatriots,

I would like to extend an open invitation to any and all members of your group to participate in the annual Veterans Day Parade in Dalton, Georgia as the guests of the Dalton-Whitfield Sesquicentennial Committee. As a member of the committee I have been asked to rally any and all reenactors in the area, both blue and gray, who would like to honor their ancestors in our Veterans Day Parade. The parade will begin forming at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 13th at the First Baptist Church on Thornton Ave. in Dalton (At the intersection of Thornton and Waugh Streets) with the parade beginning at 10:00. The parade will be followed by a Veterans Day Service at the Eternal Flame at the Whitfield County Courthouse. Then, beginning at 12:00, we will be holding a grand reopening of the Crown Gardens and Archives, headquarters of the Whitfield/Murray Historical Society, the Dalton Civil War Roundtable, and the Gen. Joseph E. Johnston Camp 671 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. At the same time we will also be reopening the Hamilton House Museum, which has been closed for 5 years due to structural concerns, which is the oldest brick home in Whitfield County. It was also a Confederate Hospital during the war and now houses the 39th Georgia Battle flag, drum, and a rifle carried by a member of the 39th along with other artifacts.

Please pass the word along to any and all reenactors in your group and any other groups that you thing might be interested. For more information and/or directions, feel free to contact me at this e-mail address Tunnelhill@windstream.net or at my home phone at 706-673-7987
